Obituary

William Wayne (Billy) Reece Sr 79 of Huntsville TX, passed away April 23, 2019 at his home. A graveside service will be held Saturday May 4, 2019 at the Scott Cemetery at 2:00pm with Pastor Ernest Kirk Officiating.
William Wayne Reece Sr was born 17 April 1940, one of six children born to the union of Jesse and Mittie Reece on 17 April 1940 in New Waverly Tx and attended school in the New Waverly area.
On a yearly basis he would seek hire for wages migrating to Abilene Tx with his family during peak employment season. During this period William met and married Marva Ann Holloway from Coleman Tx and to this union two children were born. William settled in Abilene Tx and worked as an Orderly for many years at Hendricks Medical Hospital Abilene Tx.
To provide for his family, for a short stint of his life, William signed a blank check to honor and serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy serving in San Diego California.
Throughout his life he was considered a jack of all trades. He had any tool that a person could use. If he would loan a certain item and it didn’t return, he would say they needed it more than he did. William (Billy) Reece was fond of wisdom with husbandry of many types. There was very little he failed to know about horses, cattle, planting or the weather. He proudly accepted the title as Gentleman, Farmer and Rancher.
William (Billy) Reece found his way to Christ in his middle age as a sound member of the Church of God In Christ. Throughout his years he would play his six string for the congregations for revivals and worshipping.
He leaves to cherish precious memories to one daughter, Cynthia Dee Reece of Conroe Tx, and one son, William Wayne Reece Jr. (Karla) of Brownwood Tx. Continuing to cherish his legacy are his seven Grandchildren DeRaile Reece, Renalda Straughter (Edgar), Nicholas Reece-Webb, Kristina Reece Keeling (Jesse), William Reece III, Christopher Reece, and Joshua Reece, and along with seven Greatgrandchildren, Thaylorah, Taylor, Jabez, Jaylin, Theodore, Thaddeaus and Kierra. One sister Patricia Reece Lincoln Phillips of New Waverly Tx and a host of nieces, nephews, kin with close friends and coworkers from LP.
Preceding in death are Parents Jesse and Mittie Reece, two brothers Oliver V. Reece, and Herbert Reece and two sisters Marva Jo Reece-Banks and Minnie Pearl Reece-Ellis.
Pall Bearers: Cade Reece, Ray Reece, Stanley Reece, Herbert Reece Jr, Donald Reece, Ken Reece
Honorary Pall Bearers: Ernest Bryant Jr, Alford Scott, Robert Ellis Jr, Mike Fry, Chester Franklin, Arthur Hill

Billy, you will always be in my heart. God allowed you and I to share some wonderful times together. I can remember the times that you would play your guitar and sing to me.I know that you are in a better place and that God has picked a beautiful rose from His garden. You will forever be in my heart. Love Always' Alice

My condolences to the Reece family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth. We hope you find comfort in God’s promises.
